  • We recommend sweetening with a dark sweetener of choice: brown sugar, turbinado sugar, coconut sugar, or jaggery are our favorites with this formula.

  • Pro tip: Boil 6-8 cups of water with 3-4 spoonfuls of tonic until half of the pot boils down. Result? A day’s worth of decoction you can sip throughout that worst day. 

  • Don’t drink if you’re pregnant. Avoid if you experience ulcers or have general excessive heat signs. 

Ingredients: Cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum-Fructus (Zingiberaceae)), Ginger (Zingiber offinicale-Rhizoma (Singiberaceae)), Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus-Folium (Graminaceae))

Instructions: Use 1 tsp per 1 cup of hot water. Infuse for 3-5 minutes. Add turbinado or brown sugar for sweetener.

To increase the potency of this tonic, simply add the desired amount of herbs to twice the amount of boiling water you’ll want to consume (2 cups = 1 mug, 6c = 1 pot) and boil down ~10 minutes for a decoction. Add sweetener.

Contraindications: Do not use during pregnancy. Avoid with ulcers and sign of general excessive heat.
